Our Origin
How did BriannaMarkesArt come to be?
Well, I've always had an artistic side, from playing piano as a child to drawing everything I saw when I was five. However, I truly began to take art seriously after completing my first major piece.
In 2018, I was diagnosed with Chronic Migraines, a chronic pain disorder that would come to dominate my life. The constant, unmanageable pain left me struggling to keep up with school, unable to get out of bed some days, and, at times, feeling hopeless. Despite this, my love for art became a lifeline. I started painting as a form of self-expression and an escape from my struggles. Between failing classes and living in near-constant pain, it wasn’t easy. Most of my days were spent in bed, and the only moments I felt relief were in the dead of night, when I began painting my walls.
Although my migraines never improved, despite trying almost everything, my perspective on life and art began to shift as I got older. I often doubted the value of my work, thinking it lacked deep meaning or hidden symbolism. But in reality, I learned it was full of meaning. My art reflects the hope I find in the world. It's made up of the moments and sights that remind me life is worth living, and I want to share that perspective with others.
Today, Brianna Markes Art embodies the belief that things can improve—whether it’s your outlook on life or your artistic skills.
